In 2027, I’m taking on a challenge to cycle to all 92 Premier League and English Football League grounds — travelling from club to club entirely by bike and raising money to support young people affected by the war in Ukraine.

🏟️ 92

Football Grounds

🚴 3,700+ Km

Minimum Distance

⛰️ 26,500+ m

Elevation Gain

That’s almost three times the height of Mount Everest — all climbed on a bike.

⚽️ Why the 92?

Firstly, because I’m a football fan. I’m a Brighton supporter, and football has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

But there’s another reason. As far as I can discover, nobody has ever cycled to all 92 Premier League and English Football League grounds as one challenge. That made me think — why not?

Football also gives this challenge something that simply cycling around Britain wouldn’t have: 92 clubs, 92 sets of supporters and 92 different communities.

I’ve always found football supporters incredibly generous — not just with their money, but with their time. I’m hoping supporters will come and say hello when I reach their ground, ride part of a stage with me, share the challenge and, of course, donate if they can.

And I’m hoping a little bit of good old-fashioned football rivalry might help too. If supporters can help their club climb above their rivals while raising money for a good cause, all the better!

🏆 Which club has the most generous supporters?

I’m going to find out. Throughout the challenge, I’ll keep track of which clubs’ supporters have donated the most, with a Cycling the 92 Supporters’ League.

💷 The Overall League — which club’s supporters have donated the most money in total?

🏟️ The Pound-for-Pound League — donations compared with stadium capacity, so supporters of smaller clubs have every chance of beating the giants.

I’ll publish the Top 20 throughout the challenge, so there will be plenty of opportunity for a bit of friendly rivalry.

Can your club finish above its rivals while helping young people in Ukraine?

When you donate, don’t forget to tell me which club you support so I can add your donation to their total.

How The Challenge works

The challenge starts on 18 March 2027 and, over the following nine weeks, I’m planning to complete around 38–40 days of cycling.

This isn’t one continuous ride. I’ll usually be on the bike three or four days each week, picking up each day from where I finished the previous ride. Where possible, I’ll use the train to get to and from the route so I can spend the night at home. As the challenge takes me further away, that won’t always be practical, so I’ll stay overnight and continue riding the following day.

The other three days of the week, usually Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, I’ll be back home running my convenience store: visiting markets and wholesalers, ordering stock, paying suppliers and wages, and doing all the other jobs that still need doing while I’m cycling around the country!

Along the way, I’ll visit every Premier League and English Football League ground on my route. If I arrive at a stadium on a match day and the timings and travel arrangements work, I’ll also try to get to some games and hopefully meet supporters along the way.

And there’s a very particular finish line.

🏁 The Finish Line

On 23 May 2027, after around 3,700 km and 92 football grounds, I’m aiming to ride to the American Express Stadium, home of Brighton & Hove Albion, the club I support, on the day of their final home game of the season.

No Support Vehicle

I will complete the challenge unsupported, that is without a support vehicle or crew travelling behind me. Each day, I will carry everything I need on the bike or in my CamelBak, including clothing, food, tools, spare parts and first-aid supplies.

I may use cafés, shops and water-refill stops along the way, but while I am riding I will be responsible for navigating the route, dealing with mechanical problems and getting myself safely to each club and the day’s finishing point.

How you can help

This challenge is about more than just cycling to 92 football grounds, I’d love people to be part of it along the way. Whether you donate, buy me a coffee, offer me a bed for the night, ride a few miles with me or simply come and say hello when I reach your club, every bit of support will help keep me going.

☕️ Help along the way

A coffee, breakfast or something to eat during a long day in the saddle will always be very welcome — but the costs of completing the challenge itself are my responsibility.

📣 Spread the Word

Share the challenge with friends, family and fellow football supporters. The more people who hear about it, the more we can hopefully raise for the young people in Ukraine.
